Verily Health is collaborating with Samsung Electronics America as part of the Health Security Operations Center (HSOC) to support this effort. By combining our wastewater monitoring solution, Sightline, and our research environment, Workbench, with Samsung’s hardware, we are helping to monitor for infectious disease threats across 16 sites. Earlier this year we announced our work with Samsung to integrate Galaxy Watch 8 with our precision health platform, Pre. Together we are accelerating research for life sciences and government customers by combining advanced health analytics with consumer-grade wearable data.

Samsung Technology Powers the Health Security Operations Center Monitoring for Infectious Disease Risks During 2026 World Soccer Games
A new study in npj Parkinson's Disease journal finds that digital measures of walking and non-walking behaviors, captured by a smartwatch, can track the progression of early to mid-stage Parkinson’s disease (PD). The study, led by Verily Health with co-authors from Radboud University Medical Center, Duke University School of Medicine, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, and University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, is the first to show change in in-real life mobility and sedentary behaviors over 1–2 years of early to mid-stage PD, using the Parkinson's Precision Medicine Initiative, Personalized Parkinson Project, and Project Baseline Health Study datasets. These digital measures showed significant and sustained changes within as few as 10 months, providing early indication of disease progression with greater sensitivity than current clinical measures. This insight could lead to more efficient clinical trial design and earlier, more proactive disease management strategies for people with PD. To accelerate further research, a subset of data and measures from the datasets will be made publicly available to researchers on Verily’s precision health platform, Pre.

During the recent Bio-IT World Conference, David Glazer, Verily Distinguished Engineer, presented on "Solving for friction: Next-generation TREs for accelerating discovery."
