Siloed systems and compliance obligations can hinder data sharing in healthcare. Our new blog post discusses how to overcome these challenges and foster a faster pipeline of discoveries and potential treatments by unlocking the value of your data.

Data Revolution: Meaningful Insights in Healthcare
Wastewater testing of samples from January 2025 detected measles in Houston before reported cases, demonstrating the power of wastewater monitoring for early outbreak detection. Researchers from Baylor College of Medicine and collaborators used a sequencing-based approach to identify the virus. Verily now offers sensitive and reliable wastewater monitoring for the measles virus, providing timely insights into community health.

For data scientists working in healthcare, the ability to govern, analyze and collaborate on the right data remains a challenge, and can slow down the pace of biomedical research. Platforms like Verily Workbench provide the infrastructure and collaborative tools to unlock the value of multimodal health data at scale, enabling biomedical research.

Breaking down barriers to advance biomedical research
Together with The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF), we’re expanding the impact of the Personalized Parkinson’s Project (PPP), a two-year study of 520 people with Parkinson’s led by Verily and Radboud University Medical Center. Recently, we received a $14.7M grant to generate a comprehensive molecular dataset from the PPP. The data will be made available to researchers globally using Verily’s Workbench platform, aiming to improve understanding and treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
