Honoring our Veterans. Over the course of the past seven decades, Wakefern has always shown great reverence for the men and women of our military. We have been blessed to have several of those individuals work for our cooperative after they returned home from deployment. As Veterans Day approaches, we want to recognize those Wakefern heroes. We want to pay tribute to the sacrifices they have made for our freedom.

Helping our friends in Houston - Once the roads had been cleared and the flooding had subsided, Wakefern stepped in to help. On Sept. 10, Wakefern sent a truck filled with food and supplies to Hurricane Harvey victims in Houston. Safety supervisor Mike Kelly, Operations supervisor Jeff Gross, Transportation associate Rafael Luciano and two drivers – Fadi Haddad and Norman Orebek – helped prepare the truck for departure. It would finish its journey at the Houston Food Bank, where workers would help distribute the goods to those in need. As of last week, Wakefern was still awaiting word from local organizations on the best way to help victims of Hurricane Irma. Local authorities were still assessing the damage in Florida.
Wakefern's 4th Annual Pride Day. The list of things we are proud of just keeps growing: our Health and Wellness program, our digital offerings, our talented associates, our organic choices, our social media presence, our compliance team, our financial experts… We could go on and on all day bragging about the things Wakefern does well. Instead, we’ll commemorate these achievements this Friday (Sept. 22), when the company celebrates the fourth annual Wakefern Pride Day. Associates are encouraged to wear Wakefern shirts and company colors. Be creative.
