The only negative would be you don't get to negotiate because it is a union job and you also don't have a choice if you want to be a part of that union or not because it is automatic. The good thing though is the pay is so good along with the tips that you don't need to negotiate. The immediate medical benefits are a huge plus along with the free travel for each employee and their family.

Don't use the medical benefits. I hear when they changed the plan, they got really expensive. Best thing is probably 401k match at 7%. Nothing unusually good in the way of benefits.

Railroad Rietirement, the railpass and PTO is a plus, but the healthcare is terrible now. Very expensive with super high deductibles even for the higher option plans. 401K match was at 5%, now is 7% but that is since they cut our management pensions. Bonuses are a joke as well if we even get them. Tuition reimbursement was promised when hired, but have been denied three years in a row now because of "lack of funds". Professional membership costs are not being denied and they now wont even reimburse parking.
