THE S&SP program created a great saving tools. I particular liked the ability to borrow from myself and pay myself back with interest.

GE provides a decent 50% match on your 401k up to 8% of your salary, plus an additional 3% instead of a pension. Healthcare is moving to a higher deductible plan, with your salary determining how much you pay for your healthcare benefits (basically, the higher salaried employees pay more for the same benefits and subsidize the lower paid). They also provide $1000 towards out of pocket expenses on the higher tiered plans. Recently they also went to longer Paternity leave, with at least 4 weeks available for fathers (8-12 for mothers)

You can make your career as you want it to be at GE. New graduates are having better chances to become leaders faster than hired professionals. New grad network at GE is solid and very helpful!

There are pre-mixed selections. While you have some say in which options you desire, you might pay more than you want to due to pre-mixed/picked options out of your control.

The pay was competitive, gym membership is available at the office locations. There are a lot of intern activities that are organized and often there was free food around the office
