The worst thing is that the produce department did actually have to come up with its very own training program for each location, in other words; the company does not care about its produce employees, in my opinion Hy-vee produce employees are seen as highly expendable assets, similar to courtesy clerks and cashiers

Hy-Vee wants people to be prepared for the job. They offer computer training and peer mentoring to the extent the person feels comfortable with what they are expected to do.

It was okay. Had to take a couple computer test that were extremely easy and only took about 30 minutes to do

Best thing that it is hands-on. You're not going to be reading out of a book. Everyone there is always willing to help out

They usually do a good job with training, and offer online continuing education (for HIPPA, etc).

This will vary on location but here they had the worst employees training me instead of having me trained exactly how they wanted, making me have to relearn everything. So in the long run its hindered my performance.

The trainer was very good. She was actually pleasant and not any kind of indication of the rest of the company. Too many ego issues amongst the male managers.
