Seems much more expensive when compared to my friends medical outside of IBM.

Very expensive unless you get high deductible

Reasonable priced and the plans offer great coverage. They are available for immediate usage and you are able print temporary cards until they arrive in the mail.

IBM offers many different health insurance options

Good: Various options and costs are offered with option for strong coverage if you're willing to pay the cost. Bad: costs are increasing and coverage is decreasing concurrently. Can't tell if IBM is contributing less or just wanting to offer less coverage.

Reasonable cost given the times. Lots of plans to choose from.

I was able to qualify for no cost insurance.

IBM offers lots of health insurance options

IBM has a variety of plans and they make a real effort to constrain costs year after year. However, the quality of the plans for the money tends to get worse year after year. HSA and traditional plans are offered.
