Health Insurance

For the cost, a bit below industry average... might be because IBM is self insured.

Year over year we, the employees, were forced to absorb increasing amounts of the costs.

premiums too high; deductibles too high; Flexible spending not large enough to cover family out of pocket (not IBM's fault... Thanks Obama).

Comprehensive coverage for health insurance. Variety of plans to choose from and basic plans are free for the employee.

I think the company has great health insurance.

Recently added a HSA option. The company helps seed the account each year with around $500.00 US

Price is high on premiums. High deductibles ($$$$) Max out of pocket $25K/year for family. CVS Caremark is the selected pharmacy. IBM is self insured. They try to keep the costs down for IBM. Don't get sick. Or have a sick kid. Have a spouse with good health insurance (I'm sure IBM wants you off their plan and on someone elses).

The Health Insurance package is expensive

I like the coverage options and the fact that they no longer penalize the single employee to help cover insurance costs for those employees with dependents.
