Jacobs, at least those on my contract and managers, were incredibly accommodating with benefits, time off, sick leave, and the employees were very understanding of my medical issues. I was allowed to swap down to modified part time to keep my benefits when I burned out and couldn't keep up full time and then I later was able to drop too full part time just to make sure I wasn't over doing it. When I was out of PTO but still needed a sick day I was able to take unpaid leave without much hassle and with the active support of my managers.

This review is specific to the "unlimited" PPTO benefit. While they continue to advertise their unlimited Personalised PTO (PPTO) policy in job openings and as the official, written PPTO policy, they have since rolled this back. Now we have a written policy that differs to how it *actually* works in practice. Various groups are handling it differently, including some with actual caps on the amount of PPTO you can take per fiscal year, meaning that in fact, it is not unlimited and is closer to ~20 days per fiscal year (inclusive of sick leave). Jacobs should re-write the written policy to align with how it is actually being implemented in practice, or ensure that all managers are on the same page with HR with the written policy. Otherwise, this causes a lot of confusion and frustration for staff who work hard, and just want to use the unlimited PPTO policy as promised/officially written, to allow for flexibility so that if you have an unexpected illness or family emergency, it doesn't mean you can't take time off for an actual vacation later in the year just because you "exceeded the unlimited PPTO limit" which literally makes no sense.
If you are considering employment with Jacobs, ask very specific questions about the expectations of the unlimited PPTO policy and how it is implemented for the group you'll be working within.

While there are many health plan options, none are really great, but it’s comparable to other firms. You don’t get a 401k match until the end of the year and have to be employed at that time to receive it, although it is fully vested immediately which is nice. The unlimited PTO is the best benefit in my opinion, and thus far I have not had an issue with my PTO requests ever being denied, which I know can be a problem at other unlimited PTO businesses.

They seriously downgraded health insurance in 2025. Though the number of options offered increase, the one good looking option premium is doubled from previous year. Looks like they transfered the whole premium to employee now. Other KP plans are not good and they don't provide enough details or information to estimate health care costs with their plans so that one can make informed decision. Also downgraded employer HSA contribution from $1000 to $500 for high deductible plan.

Company switched to unlimited paid time off, which really means 25 days off.
