Little vacation, as usual, but no complex necessary (clearance of advisor is sufficient)

4 weeks vacation to start. A fifth week for every five years of service. Almost every holiday off you could imagine.

Absolutely great for employees.. four weeks paid vacation after the first year of employment. There is no vacation support for "temporary" workers hired by contract through MITemps.

Vacation time accrues over time, though I don't remember exactly the rate. I was lucky to have an employer who didn't really give a crap and gave me a lot of paid vacation time off the books.

Again, in comparison to peer institutions it's rather weak. Only positive factor is all staff is entitled to same number of weeks off, irrespective of professional or support status.
