MIT employees receive up to 15 vacation days for the first year of eligible service; 20 days if you have more than one year of eligible service. Vacation time is nice as long as you get to use it. Depends on your department if they give you a hard time or not. Sick time is great as they start you off with a certain amount even during probation period
