Typical match rate of 50% of first 6%

They just increased their match for 2019 to 8% on the first 50% of your contribution.

The plan is pretty easy to understand and the plan administrator has a nice website and great customer service.

They just increase the match, given a defined pension in addition, I cant see where the industry is matching those options

Depends on agent's office. My office provided annuity planning with a 3% match from the agent. This was only offered after 10 years of being in business.

Matches 1/2 of your contribution up to 8%--so if you put in 8, then put in 4, 12 total. Not great matching, but given they provide other retirement benefits (not sure if that applies to new associates or if it's being phased out) maybe it's okay
