Our 401k plan is confusing. A lot of other commenters have mentioned that it is a 6% match, this is not true. Rackspace provides an annual, flat, contribution to your 401k if you divert a minimum of 6% of your own salary as well. No matter how much of your own salary you dump into it, Rackspace's contribution does not change as long as you hit that target 6% of your own money.

Up to 6% match, but calculated once a quarter in a confusing way.

Employees must contribute 6% to receive the maximum employer contribution , however, the company match amount is low.

Slightly below average company matching contribution-- $2k max employer contribution if you contribute $6k/yr, regardless of your salary. Lower salary / hourly employees would benefit more from this, as $2k represents a larger %.

The funds are fine but the match isn't amazing. It's $2500 flat or so if you contribute at least 6%.

401k offered Vanguard funds and a 6% match. Not bad.

They don't do a great job educating new Rackers on the benefit. I may have chosen a different way to invest.
