This is half hands on, half computer. Unfortunately while you ware paid for watching training videos, you often have to watch them at the front between customers on antiquated equipment that likes to freeze and error so you have to restart the computer and the training course. Also management teased me for taking notes and wanted me instead to go through the videos as quickly as possible.
The hands on portion, people are much more patient, though they have a small assortment of terminology for you to pick up, that some feel you should already know. The most important is "Facing" or basically straightening the shelves by lining all the products neatly at the frontmost part. Also know which term your manager wants you to use for a register pick up, shouting about large sums of money on the intercom is a touchy subject.

The training varies based on who the trainer is but there is no set training time so almost 100% is on the job, train as you go, training which often results in under trained staff because they wont know how to do something until they encounter that thing for the first time.

Very little if any training. They sit you down in front of a computer and have you watch lame videos all throughout your employment.
Of course, most of the time you don’t get scheduled time to work on them.

RiteAid trains new pharmacists for about a week depending on the individual which is more than other retail pharmacy chains

The job training is paid and done during the initial shifts through online modules. One register would be dedicated to that training to the employee-in-training could still use the other register to check-out customers.

There is computer based training and hands on training. Computer based training is quite tedious and hands on training is fast but you get the hang of it.

I had to learn everything on the job, was thrown into working on a busy day with a "floater" pharmacist who knew where nothing was nor how to train

Training at rite aid is ver unstructured. You basically just learn most stuff the hard way.
