There's no sick time bank. Instead, you can take up to 3 weeks of sick time and then you have to come back to work and it resets the clock and you can take another 3 weeks. It means you have unlimited sick time, as long as you can work occasionally within a 3-week period. I'm sure there are limits, and you would be in touch with your manager and working things out. If you really need longer time, there is FMLA and leave with no pay. I consider this very generous. Health Insurance includes options for medical, dental and vision. Coverage on the plans is very good. Employee costs are covered; spouse/family costs are largely covered by the company. SAS has many vendor agreements for discounted products and services.

At company HQ in Cary, NC SAS has built a huge Recreation and Fitness Center that rivals the top clubs in the area (Lifetime Fitness, for example).

The benefit package at SAS is very comprehensive.

Great benefits overall, especially healthcare. Many benefits are geared toward people with children so some of the great perks don't apply if you don't have young children. Retirement benefits are very limited and training/education benefits are limited as well.

The benefits are great if you have young kids, most employees cannot leave their office during the day to take advantage of on site perks.
