Discount is in the form of SYW (Shop Your Way) points. You buy an item and with the employee "discount" you get extra SYW points to use after your purchase.

give points back for purchases which forces you to buy more things. IF you get enough points you can get free items.

The "discount" is really an additional percentage back in points on qualifying purchases. When combined with existing point offers, the savings can really add up. In my personal experience, I've been able to get tons of merchandise for free or almost free, which to my knowledge is unheard of at other stores. One of the drawbacks is that when it comes to spending your points, outside of store brands your choices are very limited, but beggars can't be choosers

The employee discount was actually pretty decent at Sears. It saved me a lot of money.

You don't get a discount the way you in other companies. But you do get shop your way points to use towards your future purchases

It's not a true discount. You get rewards points instead of a discount. You can later redeem those points for products in their stores or online........BUT good luck finding anything of value. Their selection is terrible and prices are high. Every competitor puts Sears and Kmart to shame.
