Training is easy depending on site you work.

It’s is basically on the job training and for what you have to train for it is to short of a time to train

Very intense if you ate adding toast contract site with an co-worker who is very knowledgeable on the subject matter you are receiving instruction on. In the job presentation it was not clearly explained that your position requires 65% of your shift computer networking, the other 35 % security of the site.

They wouldn't let me completely read the documents I was signing as they were playing the training videos we were suppose to be watching while they wanted us to sign all of the documents without reading them.

Well I have been here for the good of 4 months. I have trained myself by reading the log books from previous guards. They are shorting me by 9g a year. They have messed my check up every payday and don't send retributions for their mistake. I have trained 4 others with what I learned on my own. They sat me in front of a video for 30 minutes. I did orientation. I was paid 2 hours work. and Since they were going to only pay me 2 hours work the next day, I only stayed 2 hours. My time is valuable. I already give them 14hrs a day. The office staff talk about you via email and forget they have a bcc to your location email and you get to read what they are saying about you, but they can't communicate together about how to run the business. Because when you ask one something they do not ask the other about it, and never have an answer. The training is on you and you only have 6 months to complete an 8 month course, that you pay for out of your pocket. I was told I would be paid a certain pay but I did not get what I was told I would get. If you want your people to be productive give them what you say you will. If I didn't like my job and what I do, I wouldn't do it. And am still contemplating that.

The training is worthless, but required by the State of Oregon in order to get your guard card and work minimum wage security jobs.

The worst part is how boring it is since it's really extended training videos with easy quizzes and training pay is $12.50, however there is plenty of snacks to enjoy.

Initial training at hiring is satisfactory for what a basic Security Officer position entails. Once you are assigned to an account/site, you SHOULD be provided with OJT (on the job training). It's hit or miss on whether or not this training is satisfactory. It depends on the Account Supervisor or Manager as well as the Branch and Area. Most positions are very simple ans straightforward, however each account/site varies wildly as to the intensity and volume of duties and responsibilities.
