Job Training

The job training went very well, also I started first with my Security Guard license class to obtain before heading into work, then, I was able to be out at a specific post and special events as well.

basic training no real training on sites they show you once than you learn the rest on your own.

I am reading a lot of the previous comments and have an opinion about all of them really. Here is what I will say... - The training videos are old and outdated. - The only extra training you receive before being trained at your post is Orientation and it's a few hours long, but not 8 to 10 hours like people are claiming. - Your site training is the responsibility of the site officer assigned to train you. I had poor training from the guy I was replacing, but I figured it out and made my way. Honestly it's all super easy. Literally just follow the law. Read the laws for your state regarding security officers. Then read your company policy and then your post order. If your company policy or post orders violate the law in any way, follow the law. If they follow the law then you're fine. If your post orders violate company policy, use sound judgement. If company policy says "You can approach suspicious individuals and challenge their actions" but your post orders say " At this post, we do not challenge individuals and rather notify proper authorities of suspicious activities" then notify authorities. Post orders are written specifically for each site and are 99% of the time stricter standards than the company policy. Use good judgement and take morals and consequences into consideration. For instance, today, we had a small snake on a property, however he is extremely aggressive and bites. I blocked him from going into the emergency medical center in this plaza. I informed my supervisor and he told me to just let the snake be. I told him if he had to fire me he should, but I wasn't going to let the snake into the medical center where it could hurt more people. The safety and security of the people on your property is one of the most important things in this line of work.

they do train you in their company policy and security procedures to increase your grade in the company as well as CPR and other usable training.

It's sort of moot. Job training consists of covering the basics and then learning the rest through time. Much like any job, really.

They don’t train very well at all no type of heads up when they want you to train someone else
