The training and salary you get as a Soldier are only some of the ways the Army strengthens you for tomorrow. The Army also offers money for education, comprehensive health care, generous vacation time, family services and support groups, special pay for special duties and cash allowances to cover the cost of living.
One of the best things I enjoyed about when working for the US Army was the paid leave and holidays throughout the year. Every Soldier receives 30 days paid leave and all Federal Holidays off. It really allows time to spend with the family and catch up on projects.

You get plenty of long weekends and time off compared to the civilian work force. There will be days that you may have to put in 12 to 24 hour days.

Matching 401K, but the healthcare is cumbersome to use. Very little opportunities to make appointments. Insurance can be better for the families. 30 days per year of vacation is a nice benefit.

the best thing about the army is the benefits, the worst thing is the benefits just because it covers so much, but a lot of providers don't accept Tricare because they are slow.

The Army has the best in the world benefits package, free medical care, 30 days a year for leave, off on most federal holiday
