Lots of benefits but with it comes at the cost of horrific work-life balance. Also assumes that the government won't run out of money to pay for said benefits.

The benefits are exceptional when COLA is provided in states that have high cost of living. No civilian company can match the paid leave that accumulates up to 30 days every year which can total up to 60 days in two years of active duty service. Every month there is at least one three-day weekend where you get paid for working a short week. Sometimes there are 4-day weekends which pays you to work two short weeks and still receive full time benefits.

BAH and BAS are not taxed. Free healthcare. TSP is the best 401k plan.

30 days paid vacation each year combined with excellent medical coverage makes these benefits some of the best you will ever see.

Medical costs are covered 100%. The wait time for an appointment and to be seen at your appointment are usually very long.
