The training and salary you get as a Soldier are only some of the ways the Army strengthens you for tomorrow. The Army also offers money for education, comprehensive health care, generous vacation time, family services and support groups, special pay for special duties and cash allowances to cover the cost of living.
It is what you make out it with your time. I you are married your family will be taken care of. If you are a single person the military is not all that bad. You really have to take the time to find out what job you really want to do. It is better if you find a job right of the bat that you like and don't just take any job because it sounds cool or you don't have the score. The military can do a lot for you and set you up to the point that you will be covered. You just have to pick the right job that can end with a great career path when you get out. It is hard but if you do the 20 years the retirement can hold you over. The main point of is pick a job you like and want to do with a career to follow and start early and go to college as you are in the military.

Most of the perks for belonging to the Army have to become known to the service member and then pursued. There are so many different kinds of benefits for differing situations of individual members, and the cost is usually reduced. The pension plan takes individual initiative to participate in. Family member health insurance costs are significantly reduced, however, it is a skill in itself to be able to navigate the bureaucracy effectively.
