Retirement Plan

I don't use the retirement plan, however even in the reserve they offer a retirement benefit plan. It's great because you really only work 60ish days of the year and get points towards retirement.

It is a great plan. High return, but have to manage putting money it in.

50% retirement pay of rank at separation at 20yrs.

fifty percent of your base pay after 20 years of service. 2.5% per year for every year you serve in excess of 20.

50% of your base salary at 20 years, and 2.5 additional percent per year up to 30 years of active federal service.

Depending on the amount of time you have in - average 20 career you receive 50% of your base pay and that starts about one month after you retirement date. IE I am 40 years old and getting my retirement check from active duty!

They changed the amount of time you must spend in the army now but is still a great system just remember you might have to give your life literally for these benefits.

Do 20 years in the service retire with a percent of your pay or I believe 30 in the guard/reserve and retire with a higher percent.

Absolutely one of the best retirement plans in the country
