Job Training

The training was actually pretty good. It prepares you for the insanity that is the postal service.

They throw you right into the mix and expect you to be able to do full routes and they treat you very poorly.

Job training was thorough, but they do remind you that training is one thing, being in the real world working is another beast entirely.

You get training and it mainly focus on safety which management disregards in order to speed up production

Only one day of the training is actually useful. The other week of it is just regular nonsense that wastes time. The last part is the driving test to see if you can drive on the right side. Most people pass. Most people get stationed at their post office and begin work before they do the driving test, then have to go back when space is available to complete it, at which point you can drive the mail truck for work. Not the best system.

They train you for a few days but you have to keep asking to other employee some of the things that your supervisor put you on.

There are job training sessions. Mostly we learn on the job.

Not enough in-depth training. There are too many variables that can arise that trainers don't account for. You will be thrown out alone into the street in very little time.

The training process is lengthy BUT, you get paid & jumpstarts your paycheck.
