Has anyone worked at gusto?
I have 15 years of experience in sales management and strong customer service experience in both phone-based and face-to-face environments. I have been actively seeking new opportunities for over a year, but I am finding it challenging to understand why applications are not progressing past the initial stage. I would appreciate insight into what employers are prioritizing today, as I am eager to improve my approach and better align with what organizations are looking for sales professionals.
How does your PIP process work? Been told by a few people on here and IRL that our PIP is quite aggressive. So i've been the top performer here for a year. Highest win rate in the team (40%). Had a really bad Q2 out of nowhere (inbound leads completely dried up too which hasn't helped at all), will finish on probs 40%. My activity is usually the highest for outreach. I'm going on PIP in July. Is this normal? Some people have told me 2 Qs in a row then PIP, but 1 bad Q is very harsh.
I once had a prospect tell me after losing the deal that my discovery was great but I had started pitching too early and lost the thread of what they actually cared about, and that single piece of feedback changed how I run every call to this day. What is the most useful thing a prospect or customer has ever told you that made you genuinely better at the job?
Even when my pipeline looks strong, I still get this wave of anxiety at the beginning of every month. Does anyone else feel like they're only as good as their last closed deal, no matter how many wins came before? Does this feeling ever go away, or is this just part of the job?
I was laid off this morning because of corporate restructuring. If I immediately start working for a competing business in the same city, can I get in trouble? I need to pay my bills, and they let me go, so I feel like I should be able to work wherever I can find a job. I don't remember signing an NDA or non-compete, but I want to make sure I won't face other legal issues. Can I get sued for taking a job with a direct competitor?
