ActiveProspect interview questions

One of the recruiters approached with the opportunity. I shared my profile and we had an initial connect eventually. Got to understand more about the role and company, shared more details about my profile and expectations. Recruiter confirmed my expectations are inline with what they can offer at that time and asked me to wait for few days for a response. I have tried following up for almost 3 weeks, got one response saying my expectations are a bit over their budget, yet they are going to check with technical team and share an update. I responded clearly I am open for negotiation and tried following up for another 5 weeks or more, but no response since then. Could've straight away informed my candidacy is no longer being considered, instead of keeping me in the dark. Interview process and responses could've been maintained well.
