Advance Testing Co Inc Engineering Technician interview questions

Met the HR at the school's career fair and had a phone interview. It was very straight forward and comfortable. Asked which department would I like to work in between building or asphalt departments.

I was into my last semester in college and applied for a position at Advance Testing through Handshake. With the Covid19 pandemic and state shutdowns ramping up, I was in a rush to find some opportunity to gain some experience even if it deviated from my major (MechE). During my interview, I was not asked about my qualifications, behavioral questions, or anything about me, yet he offered me a spot. The manager was very casual, which many would think is an easy interview, but unprofessional at the same time. He would occasionally burp, grunt, and you could tell he was walking outdoors. Despite these slight annoyances, and the low pay and long hours offered, I was still interested. It was only after a second phone call with him, I felt something was wrong. He showed little patience in understanding my relocation process and tried re-engaging me with training and certifications. He used these "benefits" in a very condescending tone and wanted to make me feel I was lucky to get this offer. That is when I felt this company was fishy despite already knowing similar bad eng tech reviews. So I declined the offer and received a mediocre email with typos asking why. In short, Advance Testing is very deceptive in its engineer coop recruiting. The "free" hosing is technically not free, and certifications are optional. I would not recommend taking this position unless you are seriously interested in the construction industry and absolutely have no other options.
