I had applied for this role online (through the Glassdoor job portal) which took me to the company's career site. I received an e-mail from a recruiter who wanted to speak with me. We had scheduled a call and we had a high-level spirted discussion. We chatted about my experiences and what the role had entailed. We also talked about some of the functions of this group. But -- the recruiter had clearly stated that I would hear back by the end of the week, which never transpired. Ghosting candidates is never cool and it is downright unprofessional. Today's candidates are tomorrow's leaders; treating candidates poorly can adversely impact a company's reputation, products, customers, and other aspects simply because a candidate who may hold unfavorable views may not want to do with business with that company when they are in a position of a stakeholder. If this is how a company treats their external candidates, one can only imagine and surmise as to how they would treat and internal employee.
