Boulder Community Health interview questions

I was contacted by the hiring manager and asked directly to interview. Two weeks between each step in the hiring process and not a ton of communication. The whole process took about a month and a half. Lots of enthusiasm for me as a candidate that felt disingenuous in the end. The first interview was great. The final interview was a group interview and it was very...odd. I was told leadership in the department would be on the call, which made me think other people in that specific department and role and then one or two from senior leadership would join, but it was literally everyone. I was really taken aback when at least 10, 12 people dialed into the WebEx. Then I was literally peppered with random questions with no real rhyme or reason for an hour. The C-suite folks (one, at least, the other didn’t say a word) were great. I found him very personable and insightful. Some of the other folks seemed to take over parts of the call, presumably because they wanted to use my interview to stand out in front of this particular person. Some folks showed up and didn’t speak at all. As for the managers/directors themselves, it felt VERY much like, “Impress us while we absolutely drill you with random questions and topics.” There was a human element severely missing from the call. Literally the first question, verbatim, was “Why you? Why us?” That caught me off guard; not the question, but the tone. It came across as short, somewhat rude and, well, they asked *me* to interview. Most of the other managers seemed very sweet, but a couple, as mentioned, were clearly using my interview as their time to shine (especially one particular person), and I found that somewhat disrespectful. Also, there was no interest in my strengths, instead it felt like the other managers wanted me to answer for any and all preconceived weaknesses. I was excited about the opportunity at first because I’d heard great things about the organization. Honestly, after the call, I was sort of mixed as to whether I wanted to work in that particular department. Some of the folks just seemed aggressive and sort of lacking in the personality and humility department. I was told several days later I didn’t get the role and I was actually quite relieved, the experience wasn’t anything like what I thought it’d be from earlier discussions. I should stress though - some of the folks were really sweet and thoughtful. But 2-3 folks...it didn’t seem like they were overly empathetic or reasonable in their approach whatsoever. Just very, very aggressive.

The process was involved, but quick. Spent about 6 hours after my application. Two lengthy phone interviews. One individual interview. One group interview. Visits to employee to health before starting job.
