I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Burberry (Dubai) in Sep 2022
Interview
I had to go through 3 interviews
First was with one store director and then another store director and then line managers.
It wasn’t like any other retail interview. There were alot more activities and a lota creativity needed to be expressed
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me to do a couple of styling
and scenario type of questions
Regular Question & Styling Part in store
Meet the Store Manager on the shop floor, and we had the interview in the downstairs cafe, lasting about 30mins, back to the store to finish the styling task, 10mins
They hire based on physical attributes rather than vitae. I was told by the manager in a passive aggressive way that I was not attractive enough to work there.
Ever since then, if i apply i am immediately rejected. I contacted the HR department. I received a call from a recruiter stating that they hire a diverse workforce of all different ethnicities, shapes, and sizes.
I work in the same mall at another high end store. The one who received the position was tall, skinny, and very attractive.
If you are plus sized, they will not hire you. It is a shame because i always wanted to work for them.
The interview process was extremely smooth.
The HR team was very helpful and clear with company expectations, day to day duties etc.
After the initial interview with the HR in Hong Kong, I was then able to progress into the next step with the in person interview with the manager at the store.
