I interviewed at CCS Fundraising (Los Angeles, CA)
Interview
The interview process was fairly typical and well-organized. It consisted of three rounds, starting with an initial intake call with the in-house recruiter to discuss background, role alignment, and general expectations. From there, I moved on to a more in-depth interview with the hiring manager focused on experience, problem-solving style, and communication approach. The final round included meeting with a few team members to assess overall fit and collaboration style. Each step felt thoughtful and structured, giving me a clear sense of both the company culture and the role’s day-to-day responsibilities.

Question 1
Can you describe a time when you had to build or optimize an operational process from scratch, and how you measured its success?
Very simple, had to go through a test of my skills and then 1 round of in person interviews. Questions asked were not a surprise. Seemed like they mostly interested in personality over skills.

Interview
It was an hour-long session with two HR people and poor audio. I mentioned the audio and was told, "we'll just push through." They didn't seem to know many details about the role and just hammered me for the hour with question after question about pretty rudimentary skills. I felt like one of the people didn't listen to me at all, since I had to repeat things, and there were very long pauses, where she would either say "sorry I was on mute" or mention the dog in the background. The kicker is that they couldn't tell me how many people are in the regional office or how many people I'd be asked to support or anything about the executive team, really basic information, and seemed put out that I would ask.
