Interview
The whole process took over two months and included 3 interviews and a memo assignment The first round was a 45-minute phone interview asking basic questions about my background and relevant experience. I had about 10 minutes in the end to ask my questions and the interviewer was friendly and informative. The second round was a memo assignment which I was given five business days to return. The third round was a case interview with mid-level staff who walked me through real-life scenarios and asked how I would handle them. I also had the opportunity to ask questions from the interviewer. The interviewer was great at explaining the scenarios, providing clarification, and making sure that all my questions were answered. Unfortunately, the last round - a 30-minute interview with executive-level staff was the lowest point of the process. The interviewer postponed the interview three times (one of them was last minute). During the interview, the interviewer asked only two questions and was not interested in my answers, and seemed a bit annoyed to answer mine. I was promised to hear back in two weeks but received a rejection three weeks later after following up. Overall, the mid-level staffs are friendly and helpful, and the process and the timeline are typical, but the higher-level staff seemed disrespectful and forced into doing interviews.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CCS Fundraising in May 2024
Interview
I just had my first interview with CCS. It was a phone interview with a current staff member. She was prompt, polite, informative, positive, and candid about the role. She spent the first part of the call (about 15-20 minutes) outlining the job and its expectations. She would stop periodically pause to see if there was anything I would like clarity on before she moved on. The second part of the interview touched on my strengths, weaknesses and experience. I don't feel any of the questions were too hard or soft. She was VERY transparent about the hiring process. In fact, I had read a lot of negative reviews about the interview process from other candidates on this and other pages. However, she emphasized that they are always interviewing for this role as their needs constantly change due to onboarding of new clients. I do think I would fit in well here and I hope to be asked to the next round. However, I am so happy I didn't let negative reviews of others' experiences lead me to turning down the interview. Let's see where this goes!! (Please disregard the "Did you get an offer" question on my responses below. My call JUST ended, but wanted to share my experience ASAP in case it helps another applicant!)

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at CCS Fundraising (Washington, DC) in Aug 2023
Interview
I really liked CCS, but this application process took far too long. I submitted by application in early July, had an interview scheduled in late July, was rescheduled in August. Did the writing assignment, did a panel interview in early September, and then an interview with a partner in mid September. They kept telling me that they liked me and would know soon, but after almost a month, still did not have a decision and I had accepted another offer. For a midlevel position 4 months for hiring is too long, and there should not be that much time between stages.
