I was reached out by a recruiter at Deel to schedule an introductory, 30 minute call. However, nothing about this interview felt introductory. There was very little information provided about the background of the role, company, metrics or salary, and instead we jumped strait into very structured sales questions, including a full mock sales call. I felt all of the questions asked were relevant to the position, but I was surprised to be assessed by a recruiter rather than the hiring manager regarding my sales presentation. Some questions were also a bit strange, such as “What level would you reach out to?” With very little context given, this answer could have meant many things. Lastly, even though I came prepared and knew a lot about the company and position, it was obvious that the recruiter had not really looked at my resume and knew very little about my sales background or management experience. From here, the process still included an activity to be presented to the hiring manager and another panel interview. Kind of ridiculous for an entry-level SDR role. Overall, I did not feel that Deel would be the right company for me and got the sense that employees were being asked to do way more than their pay grade.
