      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      Feb 12, 2013
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Dropbox (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

I'm a college senior looking for a full-time job. The whole process lasted a few weeks. I applied through their website. First I had an initial 10 minute call with one recruiter, then a 30 minute phone screen with another recruiter, and finally an on-site interview. Most of the people I met were very nice, however a few came across as rather arrogant. I felt like some of them were looking down on me since I was a new grad and maybe looked too naive and inexperienced to fit into their "cool" culture. I met a total of 8 people and the interview lasted from 10AM-4PM. I thought I did alright, the task they assigned was to coordinate a day of interviewing through google calender and it was pretty easy. A week after the interview, I got emails from two of the recruiters who wanted to follow-up with me and they seemed glad I went on-site. Then I got a request to skype with a team-member that I didn't get to meet at the office. Later on, I got a phone call saying that one of their head recruiters was leaving the company so they could not hire any new graduates. I hope it is true and not a made-up story, although last I checked the recruiter still works at Dropbox. Go figure.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

If you were to open up a 7/11, what factors would you consider. What is something that no-one knows about you? (why would anyone tell this to a recruiter during an interview? If I said the scripted answer like I'm really good at this job, then it would have seemed dull. For candidates, maybe try I'm a really intuitive person and I can read people easily.) What superpower would you like to have?

Phone screen with the hiring manager followed by a panel onsite. My interview was about 2.5 hours in total, split up between five 30 minute interviews. Not crazy, but longer than others I have heard of.

      Anonymous Interview Candidate

      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dropbox (Seattle, WA) in Jun 2019

      Interview

Overall great process and experience. It took about 2 -3 weeks. A recruiter from a staffing agency reached out on Linkedin and we had an informational call, I then had a 45 minute interview with a recruiting manager - was very straightforward and more of a conversation. Next I was brought onsite, given a tour and everyone was extremely welcoming and kind. for Had 3 back to back 30 minute interviews - the last one included a scheduling exercise and situational questions. All easy and very applicable to the RC role.
