The easiest way to get hired is to be persistent and apply during the Christmas seasonal period. Even if you sucked at your interview keep walking in, buying things, reserving things, asking for the manager as often as possible, ect, even if that means going to the store in person once a week. Some managers are very picky about their first impressions of you, as there is very limited space and barely enough hours for their regular employees. If you are a man, make sure you have a strong business like handshake. Otherwise, seek to convince them of better impression of you by going to meet them. Sometimes this doesn't always help because no one likes a creepy regular, so also make sure you have good people skills.
Met with the manager and interviewed. Good interview, professional, the questions were good and not invasive. The job seemed like a good fit but there were only a few positions open.

Applied online and then got a call to schedule interview. She asked me about what games I like, consoles I have, etc...Then she went over how strict the job is alongside the pay rate and I, for some reason, still said I wanted to work there.
