      Corporate Office Interview

      Mar 25, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Grand Prairie, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at GameStop (Grand Prairie, TX) in Feb 2020

      Interview

Nice recruiters who are left in the lurch by indecisive hiring managers. The interview process was lengthy, painful, slow (despite positive feedback), bad communicators(ghosting, only to come back later and act as if they haven't). No respect for the candidates experience and/or time. Don't waste your time or get your hopes up. These guys are tire kickers with no vision or sense of urgency and have no intention of aggressively hiring folks to help solve their problems. If you are a get it done person, keep looking, this is not the place for you. If you are a GameStop board member/executive, apply pressure to open and close reqs within a predetermined amount of time. Either you need someone for a role, or you don't. Currently, your recruitment process is broken, offensive, and unattractive. Make it a priority with your hiring managers or your only going to get bad hires which is something GameStop can not afford right now.

      Question 1

Experience related. 6 separate senior manager interviews over 2 months with little to no GameStop initiated contact in between.

      Interview

I had a phone screening and then was scheduled for an in person interview the next week at the corporate office. I met with one manager and was invited back for a second on site interview two weeks later. Was told I would hear back in about two weeks. I thought I had done well in both interviews and I was excited. I heard nothing. I followed up with the recruiter after 2 weeks and was then scheduled for what he called a final on site interview. Later that same day the recruiter let me know that the interview would have to be rescheduled. I didn't hear back after a week, emailed to follow up. Still nothing. Emailed the manager of the department I had interviewed with and was told they had gone with another candidate. This whole process spanned almost two whole months. I did not receive any emails or phone calls notifying me that they had gone with another candidate. I had to follow up and be persistent to get any answers. I missed time from my current job to attend both interviews. Gamestop obviously has no regard for their candidate's time.
