Interview
The manager was short staffed and the only person in the building when I came in for the interview, so it was conducted on the sales floor in between customers. Overall, there wasn't anything challenging about the interview questions - it began with me describing my background, then we moved on to three or four position relevant question such as 'Do you have management experience?', 'Are you comfortable handling money,' and 'Do you play video games?'
All in all I was there maybe twenty minutes, but only about 5-10 of that was the actual interview. I received an offer on the spot. The on boarding is a bit ambiguous, I had to call a few times to figure out when I would begin and how to proceed after being hired, but I had my first day within a week of the interview.
Very simple and easy going. First was a group interview and then an official secondary interview at the store. Everything was communicated very well and all questions were relevant to experience needed.
I was asked several behavioural questions, to determine my suitability for working in a retail environment. The focus was on my ability to learn and understand the store rules, as well as be able to handle customer needs. Very little was asked about video games.
