I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at GameStop (Fort Lauderdale, FL) in Oct 2011
Interview
I was brought to meet with the district manager at the time, in another store which ended up being the store I was hired for. We sat down in the back room and I was asked a small series of questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked whether I'd be willing and able to lead a team of Game Advisors to keep the store intact. Manage money and open and close the store properly.
Very simple and easy going. First was a group interview and then an official secondary interview at the store. Everything was communicated very well and all questions were relevant to experience needed.
I was asked several behavioural questions, to determine my suitability for working in a retail environment. The focus was on my ability to learn and understand the store rules, as well as be able to handle customer needs. Very little was asked about video games.
