      Customer Happiness Agent Interview

      May 12, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at GoFundMe (San Diego, CA) in May 2015

      Interview

The first step of the application was answering 3-4 essay questions along with submitting your resume and cover letter. Then, they send you a follow-up email with about 10 more questions and ask you to make a profile on their website. If you're answering their questions with a lot of thought, like I did, it'll take you a couple of hours to complete this. Then comes a phone interview, which takes about an hour or so. After that, I was invited to an on-site interview where I was interviewed by two of the customer happiness leads, shadowed a customer happiness agent for about 10 minutes, and then was interviewed one more time by a different lead. I wasn't entirely unhappy with the interview process at GoFundMe. Everyone that I met was nice and the office seemed really cool. However, I feel that their long interview process is a bit extensive and unnecessary if they aren't going to hire you. I was overqualified for this position having worked in many customer service roles. One of the leads explained to me that they really want someone in the position who gets along with the staff and can handle the hours and workload. I explained that I was dedicated and ready for a position such as this one. And I got along with all of the people in the office that I talked to. So it was confusing when I wasn't offered the job. If you think about it point blank, this is a customer service position. Simple as that. But if their "biggest problem" (one of the initial questions that they ask) is that they need more customer support, why aren't they hiring the people who are over-qualified and outgoing? It just didn't feel right to me.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Essay ?s: 1. Explain a time when you feel that you excelled in the workplace. 2. Explain what experience you have that will help you in this position. 3. What do you think is our biggest issue at GoFundMe? Follow-up email ?s: 1. Tell me about your last or current position - what did you like about your position and the company itself? 2. What did you dislike about your position and the company? 3. Can you give an example of a customer that you turned around from a position of discontent to pure joy? 4. When it comes to customer support, are there any authors, blogs, or books that stand out for you? 5. I'd also like you to give our product a try by creating your own campaign and exploring the different features available. How was your experience with the GoFundMe product? What did you like or dislike? 6. Hi there, I started a GoFundMe donation page to help my dog with his surgery. Where is the money I raised and how do I get it? 7. Hello GoFundMe team, I finished setting up my page but I can't find it in your search results. What's wrong? Interview ?s/On-site Interview ?s: These were practically the same questions. They asked me about my best friend and what I wanted in the future. They also asked me who I would meet if I could meet anyone from the past, present, and future.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at GoFundMe in Mar 2021

      Interview

The process took a very long time. It started with a test, there are many examples of the topics that were covered in the written text here on previous Glassdoor posts. After the written exam, I was contacted for a phone interview with a recruiter in the US. It was very short and I was delighted to move on to the next interview. Although I was expecting an interview, it was a remote test to evaluate my english skills. I didn't like that there were other candidates at the beginning of the call. It felt like they wanted candidates to know there were other people there fighting for the same job, and it made me feel very uncomfortable. The test was very complicated. After hearing I passed, I was even happier to move on to the next interview. It was all done remotely and I got to talk to some people in Dublin. The whole interview took more than 2 hours. I was exhausted at the end, but I thought that it went really well. There was a shadowing session and also an informal chat with a current employee. After this round, I was invited to the final interview. This was also supposed to be an informal chat, but this time there was only a person present, a manager. I don't know what happened, but I think this one didn't go as well because I was told at the end of it to wait at least 2 more weeks for an update. I didn't hear anything else from them, so after about 2 weeks I decided to send in an email to check in with recruiter. To my disappointment, I received a standard rejection email that left me feeling very cold. Thankfully, I had read other people's reviews here on Glassdoor that described a similar experience, so I wasn't completely unprepared. However, the disappointment I felt was huge as I really felt that the 2+ hours interview went really well and felt that the final interview would be just a formality. My disappointment was also increased by the fact that I had to write an email to get a response. I believe that if I hadn't, I would never have heard back from them. I would probably still be here waiting. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience, especially considering all the time that I took preparing for and participating in the interview process. If you decide to apply for this company, be prepared. It is a very long process, and there is no guarantee that it will end well for you.

It's a somewhat long process, but well worth it! It starts with an online application, then a phone interview. If you get through the phone interview, you'll be interviewed in the office by 2 groups of 2 people.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at GoFundMe (Dublin, Dublin) in Apr 2020

      Interview

I applied through their website. After more than one month, a HR recruiter contacted me and told me to answer the questions many people have already provided here. Once passed this test, I was scheduled for a video interview with the recruiter from San Diego. No more than 15 minutes, really quick. She is extremely nice and the interview is not complicated. I don't know how they decide whether you passed or not, they don't give any clue. I received an e-mail from her the following day to let me know I hadn't made it onto the next stage of the process.
