The first interview with for this role (recruiter call) was fairly basic, but it didn’t excite me about the role at all. The process as described by the recruiter felt overly demanding, with many expectations placed on me as the interviewee. The recruiter made it seem like I should be grateful for the opportunity to be considered for the role, which felt off-putting. Interviews should be a two-way street, where both the company and the candidate assess if it’s a good fit. However, it felt more like the company was demanding a lot, without offering much in return. This left me feeling unenthusiastic about moving forward with the process. Based on this experience, I’m not interested in pursuing anything further with Intercom. The process felt one-sided and didn’t inspire me whatsoever.

I actually interviewed for the AE position on the Mid-Market team first. Through that interview process, I met one of the managers on the Relationship Management team. I can't emphasize enough how much I enjoyed meeting the individual people at Intercom throughout the process. They seemed like people with whom I would really have fun working. Also, the communication throughout the interview process was top-notch. Otto was the recruiter with whom I worked and he was incredible in terms of communication throughout the entire process.
