I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at JCPenney (Lansing, MI) in May 2012

Interview

It was pretty slow to start. There was a phone interview with the FOL (Field Operations Leader), then an in person interview with her, then an interview with the store manager who happened to have the RM visiting that day, so I had her in the interview as well. I had to do several tedious timed online tests to make sure I could read an invoice, do math, etc. Then they sent my contract, I signed and started work.

I was contacted by a recruiter. I took 2 tests, interviewed with the recruiter, mean store manager, district manager, and the field operations manager. All over the phone except jerky store manager. I passed with flying colors because I studied every possible interview question and fibbed on the ones I didn't actually have experience with.

Explain a time when you had to discipline an employee. Why and what did you do to turn it into a positive situation and ensure it never happened again. There were all sorts of difficult questions. Explain a time when you had to use your leadership in a difficult situation.
