I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at LensCrafters (Jensen Beach, FL) in Dec 2025
Interview
Overall, I would say that the recruiter I dealt with was unprofessional. The recruiter reached out to me via messages on, indeed asking me if I’d be interested in interviewing for a store manager role with Sunglass Hut. I responded back that I was in fact interested. The next email I got from her was an email asking me to pick a time slot for an interview for LensCrafters. I found this weird as the initial email was referring to Sunglass Hut and not LensCrafters so I emailed back asking for clarification and was confirmed for LensCrafters at a location 60 miles away from me. Her reason for the mixup was a system software error. Her reason for the mixup was a system software error. However, I know how the indeed systems worked. It was an issue on her end that she tried to blame on the computer rather than state she made a simple mistake. The day of the interview I got an email five minutes before the interview stating that they were going to cancel because they wanted someone with specific licensing. Unfortunately, I didn’t discover this email until 10 minutes into the interview time because I had already logged into the Zoom link by the time they emailed me. The job description didn’t specify any requirement for license or certification requirements.
Other Store Manager Interview Reviews for LensCrafters
I applied online and interviewed with a recruiter, the hiring manager and had a panel interview with two VP’s.
The interviews were pretty straight forward, no trick questions or anything.
Once the interviews were completed the recruiter reached out and said she’d get back to me as soon as she had an answer. I responded thank you and received an “out of office” response. I thought this was strange as her message didn’t mention vacay or that someone else would be getting back to me. Now I know, this lack of communication was foreshadowing…
A recruiter from another area, did get back to me quickly. But the offer was for $15k less than what was discussed in the interviews and the location was a non starter since I would need to move b/c during rush hour, it would take me 1.5 hours, each way to commute to this location. They made it very easy to pass on the offer, so I did.
The lack of transparency around pay and last minute bait and switch made me feel like my time was wasted.

Question 1
Should customers that buy more expensive items get better service? How would you manage that gap?
I found the interview process long and disorganized. Spoke to 4 different people. Given wrong day and time for interview and was left waiting at the time I interview was supposed to start
