Maxwell Health interview questions

I sent in a cover letter and resume, and followed up with the HR person after not hearing back. A call was arranged with the CEO. (I was under the impression that it was a Skype call, but I answered my cell phone when it rang.) The first thing he asked me was to give him my "spiel," which I did -- it consisted of my explaining my interest in the company (I have no experience with health insurance but had researched the company extensively online) and highlighting what my professional experience could bring to the company. Because I read online, "Even if you don't see a position that fits what you're looking for, feel free to send over a copy of your résumé," I then asked him if he thought my professional experience would be a good fit for any of the available positions at Maxwell and listed two that I thought might be good fits. He went off on me, laughing and saying, "I'm just going to give you a piece of advice -- you do not impress an employer by asking questions and wanting to hear more." He continued on like this, saying, "We usually conduct these interviews at 7am, you know!" As if I were lazy. "You know," he said, "people write love letters wanting to work for us." I let him continue with these kinds of statements and didn't say anything. I was shocked at his condescension, how quickly he showed his ego, and how unprofessional he was in such a short amount of time. It felt like a personal attack. I thanked him for the advice and hung up. After reading reviews, it seems that this company struggles to give professional interviews, so I thought I'd add my experience here. Never followed up and wasn't offered a job. I'm glad I saw this side of the company so early on and knew it wasn't for me. I wouldn't invest time in applying for a position here.
