The position had already been open for about 6-7 months, which should have been a red flag. In February, I was first contacted by an internal recruiter. After "passing" that phone interview, I spoke with the hiring manager on the phone. Finally, I met with the hiring manager in-person. The interviews all seemed to go well, so I followed up with the internal recruiter 2-3 times, in intervals of 2-3 weeks. Eventually, I gave up. Finally, in late May, I got a generic rejection email; it was unclear if the position had been filled or simply closed without a hire. I felt this was a very rude and impersonal way to end the process.
