      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Columbus, OH
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at McGraw Hill (Columbus, OH) in Jan 2019

      Interview

Absolutely disorganized and unprofessional. The recruiter in Ohio called me, had a great interview, said I'd have another phone screen. The next day I get a "no thank you email." The day after that the same recruiter calls me as if we had never spoken before, I fill her in and she apologizes and says, "You are on the short list, we need a woman in this position to balance out diversity." (Not kidding one bit, yes she said this.) Tells me next step is to meet with hiring manager. Never heard from her again, she doesn't return email or phone calls. What a screwed up organization.

After the interview, I followed up with the recruiter several times and she never returned my calls. I then waited 5 weeks and got the "thanks for your interest" email.
