Unfortunately, the process did not meet my expectations of professionalism and organization. Initially, the interview scheduling was delayed due to the hiring manager’s availability, which created some uncertainty. When the interview was finally conducted, I was surprised to find that the hiring manager was not professionally dressed and excused himself at the beginning of the meeting to attend to his dog.
During the interview, it felt as though there was a lack of preparation, as the questions asked did not seem structured or relevant to the role. Following the interview, I did not receive any communication about the next steps for several weeks. When I reached out to the recruiter for an update, I did not receive a response, which left me feeling ghosted and undervalued as a candidate.
This experience gave me the impression that the company might lack professionalism and empathy toward potential candidates, which was disappointing given McGraw Hill’s reputation as a leader in education. I hope this feedback can help improve the candidate experience for others in the future.
