I had a telephone interview, took an online test, and had an in person interview with two supervisors. They asked me standard questions. I felt the interview went pretty well until I realized that after I left that they did not ask me for references so I knew I would not get an offer ( I dropped my references off at the front desk but I was pretty sure they didn't forget).I have done pretty much the exact job before. I perhaps rambled on one or two of my questions at the end but one of the supervisors appeared disinterested throughout the interview. I was told I would hear one way or the other by the following Wednesday ( several times). I waited for a call but when no one called I left a message with the HR recruiter who up to that point had been very good about returning my calls. Two days later I got a generic rejection E-mail. Prior to the in person interview I got a tour of the main floor as well as a review of the benefits. I think that this should be reserved for applicants who have an actual chance of getting an offer. I need to work on my interviewing skills, however, I think this was an issue of ageism ( I am 59. The people who interviewed me appeared to be under 40 at least) or they had already decided on the candidates to be called back before I got there. Either way I see the position has been posted again (7-8).

The interview was conducted with two staff that are in a leadership role over the role being interviewed. They were professional but laid back and made me feel very comfortable. The questions were pretty typical for an interview but were phrased in a way that made them seem less intimidating. Overall pleasant interview.
