Screening interview was well-structured, a friendly interviewer and standard questions. They didn’t support the visa sponsorship for this role at that moment, so we didn’t proceed. It took 30 minutes and was finished on time.

I’ve had two separate experiences with the hiring process at Mews, two years apart, both of which were unfortunately disappointing. In the first instance, I applied directly for a position I was very interested in. I had initial conversations with a recruiter and then the design lead, which seemed to go well. However, after a month of no communication, despite my follow-up messages, I received an automated email informing me that other profiles had been chosen, with no opportunity to receive feedback or understand how I could improve for future opportunities. More recently, I was approached by a recruiter who reached out to me privately because my profile aligned well with a position. I went through an initial HR interview, but since then, I’ve heard nothing. Given my previous experience, I’m doubtful that I’ll receive any follow-up this time either, especially as I’ve seen the position has already been closed. These experiences have made me question whether Mews prioritizes a respectful candidate experience. The hiring process is often the first impression candidates have of a company, and how it’s handled reflects how employees might be valued internally. I hope this feedback can help highlight the importance of clear, timely communication and transparency in the hiring process, as it plays a crucial role in building a company’s reputation.

The process steps were very professional, and the team that conducted the interviews was super nice, respectful, and kind. I was impressed by their individual personalities and the potential for us to work together as colleagues. This extends from the recruiter to all the designers and design managers involved.
