The process with Mews was poor. I applied online and, all told, everything took several months (including gaps of up to 3 weeks where I didn't hear anything).
The role I applied to changed early on (without explanation) and during my interview with a manager at the second stage they were inventing the job spec mid-interview asking me about what it should include (I must add the candidates after me got to see the full job spec, placing me at a disadvantage in the recruitment process).
After I completed a task (unpaid) that took up my entire weekend, I was then rejected - I have over 10 years' industry experience. After this I watched with interest as the job spec remained online for a long time.
It came across the business was either looking for a unicorn candidate and being absurdly picky. Or they were using candidates for free strategy/content ideas. Either way, in future please respect candidates and make fast decisions. A hiring process for a marketing writer shouldn't take going on half a year to fill.
It makes me curious this sort of thing. Getting rejected at the end of a disorganised process like this where the business makes out you're the problem, not them.
