Three rounds of interviews. The initial round 1:1 with VP of Comms, second round was in-person with the team, and third was 1:1 with Chief Communications Officer. I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Norfolk Southern
Interview
It started well and fairly routine - recruiter talks, hiring manager interview, team interview. I also provided work samples and did a communications writing assignment and fleshed out communications plan, all on my dime. After a few weeks of dangling and being told they were close to a decision, I was ghosted. Completely. No call-back, no response to outreach. To me, that's unprofessional and unforgiveable. It reflects poorly on the brand and company culture.
