I applied through an online portal. Almost three weeks later after applying, I don't hear back, so I sent them an email asking for updates concerning my application. I get a phone call immediately the next day to schedule a phone call.
The first interview was with the HR and a Senior Data Scientist. I was really impressed with the interview. The senior DS was asking very interesting, tough, and detailed questions related to my previous work. It really showed that the DS did a great job in checking my background. It was one of the very few personalised interviews I've had.
I received a phone call Immediately the next day that they had a positive impression and that they want to proceed forward. The second interview was a technical interview. They sent me a task along with data to work on. I had around 1 week to prepare the presentation. It was a classification problem and they wanted the presentation using jupyter notebook. The second interview was with the HR and the same DS. Although in the email, they mentioned that a third person will be present as well.
Anyways, the interview went well. The DS was asking questions during the presentation, which I really liked. As it gives some sort of feedback. He again did a great job in asking relevant and detailed questions about what we're discussing. At the end of the interview the HR said I will receive feedback in maximum 1 week.
Unfortunately, 4 months and a half later, I still haven't heard back. I sent two follow-up emails to the HR asking for feedback and updates, no answer. I called the HR twice, no answer. I am really disappointed with their actions. I had a great impression during the interviews about the company and its atmosphere. I had one of my favorite interviews as well. The DS was asking relevant and relatively tough questions compared to other interviews I had. I was super excited for the job. It's a shame I never got a reply back, not even feedback. The HR could have at least answered my emails. What a waste of time reading about the company, checking their videos, and preparing the task. It took time and effort to solve the task and prepare the presentation. The HR should have at least answered my emails.
All in all, the interviews I've had were one of my favortites and the most personalised ones I've had. They should do a better job at respecting applicants and the time spent on preparing for the interviews.
